TableCrowd: A Start-Up’s Diary

Monday. Frantic. Meet designer to work on responsive technology, factoring in improvements which come from user feedback on our beta site.
Our application to Chinwag’s Digital Mission to New York was accepted, so we join 20 other companies to gain insight into the New York tech scene. UK Trade & Investment London is helping some companies with a grant towards the trip; I’m hoping we’re one of the chosen ones.
Padded my flight with a detour to Women 2.0 Conference in San Francisco.
First thing Tuesday, we enhanced our email marketing analysis and improved UX.
Time for the weekly Startup Engine dinner, organised via TableCrowd. A great crowd with people from software developers to bricks-and-mortar businesses. Splendid Mexican food too.
Wednesday was spent preparing for the Lion’s Cage pitch competition organized by London Business Starters. One panel, 150 spectators, three minutes.
We were up sixth, giving plenty of time to sweat. Tough crowd, no punches pulled, but we did it, pooling the most votes and won £5k of legal advice from Taylor Wessing. Not a bad evening’s work!
