Make Sure You Receive Emails from Chinwag
Do you want to make sure your Chinwag emails aren’t being incorrectly zapped by spam filters or junk folders? Listed below are some simple steps for different email programs, to make sure that emails get through unmolested.
Email Addresses
Chinwag sends email from the following addresses:
- All newsletters and job alerts: help(AT)chinwag.com
- Viralmonitor sends emails from viralmonitor(AT)lists.chinwag.com
- Email discussion lists use: listname(AT)lists.chinwag.com e.g. so for uk-netmarketing, the address you should whitelist is uk-netmarketing(AT)lists.chinwag.com

Whitelisting Instructions for:
Outlook 2003
Add the relevant address from the list above to your Safe Senders list:
- Select the ‘Tools’ menu and click ‘Options’.
- Select the ‘Preferences’ tab and click ‘Junk E-mail’.
- Choose the ‘Safe Senders’ tab and click ‘Add’.
- In the ‘Add address’ field, type the email address of the service you wish to whitelist
- Then just click ‘OK’.
Hotmail/Windows Live Hotmail
Just Subscribed to a Chinwag Newsletter or Email Discussion List?
If you’ve just signed-up to a newsletter from Chinwag, you’ll need to add the relevant address from the list of Chinwag addresses to your ‘Safe List’ on your Hotmail account:
- Login to Hotmail and navigate to your Inbox
- Click ‘Options’ (top right hand corner)
- Click the ‘Junk E-Mail Protection’ option (towards the top of page)
- Select the ‘Safe List’ link (2nd from bottom)
- Type the email address from the list of Chinwag addresses into the box labelled ‘Type an address or domain’
- To finish, hit the 'Add' button
Already Receiving Emails from Chinwag?
If our discussion list email or newsletter is in your Junk E-Mail Folder. Select the email and open it (and open one of each type of email if you subscribe to more than one discussion list or newsletter).
- Click on the button labelled ‘Not Junk’
- Check the ‘Blocked Senders’ list and make sure the email address isn’t listed there
- If the email is listed in the ‘Blocked Senders’ list, select it and click the ‘Remove’ button
If you haven’t already done it, add the email address you wish to receive email from to your ‘Safe List’ using the instructions above.
Yahoo
Just Subscribed to a Chinwag Newsletter or Email Discussion List?
To whitelist Chinwag’s email services, you will need to create a filter to re-direct emails from Chinwag to your inbox:
- Select Yahoo Mail and click on the ‘Mail Options’ (in top right-hand corner)
- Choose ‘Select Filters’ (in the bottom-left corner)
- Click on the ‘Add’ link button on the ‘Filters’ page
- Update the box ‘From header:’ rule with the following two details:
- ‘ends with’
- ‘chinwag.com’ – which tells Yahoo to filter email from Chinwag correctly
- From the drop-down menu labelled ‘Move the message to’, select ‘Inbox’
- Click the ‘Add Filter’ button in the bottom left-hand corner of the page
Already Receiving Emails from Chinwag?
If emails from Chinwag are getting sent to your Yahoo Bulk Folder, follow these instructions to prevent this happening:
• Open the email and click the ‘Not Spam’ button
• Then, check to see if the newsletter's email address is in your ‘Blocked Addresses’ list
• Select Yahoo Mail and click on the ‘Mail Options’ (in top right-hand corner)
• Click on the option ‘Spam’ in the left-hand menu
• If the email is listed in the ‘Blocked Email Addresses’ list, select the email and click the ‘Remove’ button
• To finish, follow the instructions above to set up a filter
AOL
Just Subscribed to a Chinwag Newsletter or Email Discussion List?
Please add the address of the Chinwag service you wish to whitelist, to your AOL address book:
- Click on the ‘Mail’ menu and select the ‘Address Book’ option
- When the ‘Address Book’ pops up, click on the ‘Add’ button
- When the the ‘Address Card for New Contact’ window loads
- Paste the from address of the relevant Chinwag service into the box labelled ‘Other E-Mail’
- Make Chinwag's email address the ‘Primary E-Mail’ address by ticking the check box
- Click the ‘Save’ button
Already Receiving Emails from Chinwag?
If one of the emails from our email discussion lists or newsletters is in your AOL Spam Folder, take these steps to whitelist the email:
- Open it (or one of each of the emails you want to whitelist)
- Click the button labelled ‘This Is Not Spam’
- Use the instructions above to whitelist the relevant address.
Gmail
Just Subscribed to a Chinwag Newsletter or Email Discussion List?
Fortunately, whitelisting an email address using Gmail is dead easy. Just add the relevant email address of the Chinwag service to your Gmail contacts list:
- Click the 'Contacts' button on the left side of any Gmail page.
- Click 'Add Contact'.
- Copy and paste the From address of the Chinwag email service <hyperlink: anchor to list of email addresses> into the primary email address field.
- Hit 'Save' button and that’s it!
Already Receiving Emails from Chinwag?
How to check if our list emails or newsletter is in the "spam" folder:
- Click ‘Spam’ on the left side of any Gmail page.
- Tick ‘mark the box’ next to the email from Chinwag
- Then click the ‘Not Spam’ button along the top of the list of emails
Corporate Networks & General Information
Emails sent from Chinwag are sent from servers that are identified and verified using reverse DNS, SPF (Sender Policy Framework and SenderID records.
Corporate networks can ensure that they receive email from Chinwag by whitelisting:
- Whitelisting all email that originates from servers in the chinwag.com domain
- Whitelisting email coming specifically from Chinwag’s email services, listed above
Whitelisting Chinwag’s mail hosts:
- mail.chinwag.com
- lists.chinwag.com
- slug.chinwag.com
