TechHub Launching in London

A Mecca for talent and a lynch pin in the European tech scene, it may be, but the sky-high rents of London put many companies off. All that's about to change with the introduction of an innovative work space for tech start ups.

TechHub (@TechHub onTwitter) is the new project put together by Elizabeth Varley, who has been a feature on the London tech scene for a number of years. She's organised the London Twestival and has been developing the concept of a work space that's aimed at the needs of the tech community, and start ups in particular, for a while.

But it's not only Lodon-based start-ups who will benefit from the new venture. For Elizabeth the project was,

"not only to create a physical space in London for the technology community but for those visiting the city from Europe, the Middle East, the US and beyond."

TechHub will jammed full of all the things no self-respecting tech company would do without like great Wi-Fi, lots of power sockets, plenty of flexible working spaces and shiny cappuccino machines. Spaces can be permanent or temporary; giving it the feel of a tech commune, "where everybody knows your name". A definite improvement on meetings in anonymous coffee shops.

All this and it's in a pretty cool, central London location, the Shoreditch/Old Street area. In other words Silicon Roundabout; the area around Old Street that's already filled with tech start ups.

The work space is to be funded by membership rates, partners and sponsorship and so far BookingBug are the only pre-launch partners to have been announced.
