thingmakers will be holding an intense one-day conference in October 2011 about the best of 3D printing and customised manufacturing, covering available technologies, who's doing what, who is making a success of 3D printing, and where is it all going?

The Conference

It is now possible to print in 3D from a digital design, to lasercut from 2D designs, to scan 3D objects and to assemble the results into products. ‘Distributed factories’ provide access to technology through the web. Desktop printers and cutters bring output to our workshops. We are entering a new phase of customised production and manufacturing.

Tools for customised manufacturing are reaching a tipping point  – we are no longer constrained by prototyping and production technologies that are out of our hands.
