Description

Are you a tech startup? Do you need funds to grow and to develop your business and take your proposition to a wider audience? Are you considering approaching investors such as angels or VC's? If the answer is 'yes' to all these questions, then you might find the 2Pears pitch training workshops, run with the support of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), useful.

The pitch-training workshops are available to attend for startups, small and early stage businesses in the UK, and to European tech companies looking to set up their business in the UK. 2Pears have to date trained over 600 tech startups to pitch for funding, so the workshops have a solid track record, and we get some great feedback: such as this from the co-founders of Swytch:

"[Julie - the trainer] was extremely helpful in distilling exactly what should be in a pitch and provided great tips on how to actually carry out the pitch. It was great that we were able to put something together in such a short time, present it to the room and then get immediate feedback from everybody - this was extremely helpful. [...] there aren't many places that you can go to learn how to put a good presentation and pitch together, it's assumed that every entrepreneur knows how to do this instinctively!"

We have now opened registration to the next two pitch workshop sessions taking place on the 16th of September.

About the pitch workshops:
The pitch-training workshops have a proven track record in providing a first crucial step for startups looking for funding. You will be surrounded by fellow entrepreneurs, which guarantees a supportive environment and delivers honest and insightful feedback from peers on your pitch - and some times even on your business and technology!

The half-day session covers:
- how to put together a pitch presentation and what needs to be included
- guidance and feedback on delivery skills
- how to overcome nerves and body language
- how to maximise networking opportunities at the event

Follow-on opportunities:

A large number of tech and music-tech startups proceed to pitch their business proposition to a wider audience of potential investors, journalists and fellow entrepreneurs, at the evening pitch competitions TechPitch 4.5 and Music TechPitch 4.5. The evening pitch competitions provide a platform for startups to create more awareness for their startup and to connect with the investor community and media. Many of the startups that have done the pitch-training and pitched at TechPitch 4.5 find the awareness generated helps them to go on to bigger and brighter things. We have followed up on a couple of our 2Pears alumni and you can read about their specific successes on the 4.5 Blog.
