This event is part of Social Media Week London, organised by Chinwag, it's made possible thanks to our sponsors from Nokia and JWT.
Traditionally two separate industries, games and social media have meshing together in a variety of ways, providing opportunities for brands. Traditional games companies are embracing social media, social gaming market is set to hit over $1bn this year and brands are combining game mechanics and social media to drive campaigns.

Mark Hindle, Communications Manager, Nokia UK
Mark Hindle launched and oversees Nokia's UK social media presences including Facebook and Twitter, and is responsible for a wide range of device and service communications, like 'The Conspiracy For Good' - a groundbreaking immersive gaming experience that was written by Heroes' Tim Kring and brought to life using Nokia's Ovi services.
Miguel Andres-Clavera, Creative Technology Director and Head of Innovation at JWT London
Miguel runs the Innovation and game lab within JWT Experience London working at the intersection of creativity, technology, research, social change and development, with a special focus on high-end and casual games, mobile platforms and convergence to amplify brand experiences in the form of what he calls expanded play.
Miguel has worked as interactive creative lead and game designer in several agencies for brands such as Sony and Adidas and previously as software engineer for Barclays. He co-founded the Social Technology and Cultural Interfaces research group at Goldsmiths Digital Studios, where he also lectured.
Guy de Beer, CEO of Playcast
Guy de Beer's close involvement with the media distribution business and technology spans over 11 years, during which time he has held various marketing and business development positions in the Telecoms and Cable sector. Prior to founding Playcast Media Systems, he managed Harmonic's [NASDAQ: HLIT] VOD product lines. Playcast is the leading cloud gaming platform for TV and PC.
Chair: David Rowan, Editor of Wired UK David Rowan is editor of Wired UK, which won 2009 Launch of the Year at the British Society of Magazine Editors Awards. He has edited The Guardian's websites, written tech and trend-watching columns for The Times, made TV films for Channel 4 News, and produced satisfyingly long features for The Telegraph Magazine, Sunday Times Magazine, The Observer and elsewhere. Trained at The Times, he edited The Guardian's op-ed, education, analysis and Saturday features sections. Most recently he edited The Jewish Chronicle.
