The UK radio industry - innovation, competition and switchover
Description
Following the Communications Minister's recent announcement of new measures to increase digital radio adoption in the UK, this seminar will bring together policymakers and representatives from across the sector to discuss the next steps for the UK's radio industry. Also taking place in the context of the ongoing DCMS plurality consultation, Ofcom's recently published Digital Radio Report, as well as the Competition Commission's ruling in the Global and GMG takeover, this seminar will offer delegates a timely opportunity to discuss the opportunities and implications of policy developments on digital radio migration - particularly the next steps for supporting local DAB rollout, regulatory priorities, and the strategies to drive usage and take-up of digital services - as well as how the sector can respond to the emerging commercial challenges created by consolidation, converged technologies and increased competition from online services.
We are delighted that Ford Ennals, Chief Executive, Digital Radio UK; Dee Ford, Group Managing Director Radio, Bauer Media and Mark Friend, Controller, Radio and Music Multiplatform, BBC have agreed to deliver keynote addresses at this seminar.
