The Tech Business MiniMBA #1: Fundraising for Startups
Event Info
Description
One of the biggest pitfalls in small start-up businesses is the lack of capital and investment. While lots of websites report on the success stories of those who raised investment, tangible ways and means to bring about that deal remain unclear.
Matthew has worked with many new businesses and successfully guided them through the stages of startup, growth and exit. In his role on the gateway2investment team he led over 50 businesses, seeing them raise £22million in just 18 months. He also co-founded the Collider12 accelerator programme, 9Others and more recently he established the StudentUpstarts seed investment programme and UpstartsConnect workspace.
During this presentation Matthew will provide a rounded overview of the investment landscape for tech and creative businesses. He will introduce the key figures involved in raising capital from bank, angels and venture capitalists, he will explore routes into this environment and finally, he will advise on the basic requirements funders look for in any business to assess their eligibility for investment.
The Tech Business MiniMBA is delivered by MiniBarLabs in partnership with the ICT KTN
