Guest of Honour: Helen Goodman MP, Shadow Minister for Culture, Media and Sport
This seminar will offer a timely opportunity to consider the emerging regulatory and public policy priorities for protecting young web users - as the Government considers the way ahead as part of the policy document:Connectivity, Content and Consumers: Britain's digital platform for growth.
The conference will bring policymakers together with representatives from across technology, telecoms and child protection to examine priority challenges including adult and offensive material, unwanted attention via social media and damaging websites, such as those promoting hatred and forms of self-harm. Delegates will also assess latest thinking on ways to engage with young people on the dangers that exist online and provide them with the education and skills necessary to empower and enable informed choices.
