Java Developer Conference Devoxx comes to London
For the first time, sell-out international Java conference Devoxx takes place in London on 26-27 March 2013.
The largest Java/JVM community conference in the world, Devoxx is professionally run ‘by developers for developers’, allowing them to discover the latest technology trends and explore the future of software development. Leading speakers at the London event include serial entrepreneur and Devoxx founder Stephan Janssen, Stephen Chin (Oracle), Dr Holly Cummins (IBM), Gemma Silvers (Playfish) alongside London Java Community leaders and founders of jClarity Martijn Verburg and Ben Evans.
Created in 2001, Devoxx (originally known as JavaPolis) is an annual European Java, Android and HTML5 conference, organized by Janssen and the Belgian Java User Group (BeJUG), With over 2,800 attendees in 2006, JavaPolis became the biggest vendor-independent Java conference in the world. Both Devoxx 2011 and 2012 were sold out weeks before the event, attracting over 3300 attendees from 40 different countries. In 2012, the first edition of Devoxx France, organized by the Paris Java User Group, sold out a week before the event, attracting more than 1200 attendees.
Devoxx grants developers the opportunity to rub shoulders with world-class speakers, encourages networking and fosters improvement in a community-led environment. Sponsored by Oracle and RedHat, the sessions deliver commercial knowledge, practical advice and hands-on learning for busy day-to-day developers. Attendees can also to chat to authors who have experienced various methodologies and frameworks and share best practices and code with fellow London-based or international developers.
