Description

The IAB presents an interactive, experiential showcase for advertising on games consoles and online gaming platforms.

Experience firsthand how to best use the fastest growing and most immersive media in existence. Featuring an opportunity to be one of the first in the world to go hands-on with 3D gaming and motion-controlled gaming environments.

The IAB Games Steering Group (GSG) - DoubleFusion, EA, IGA Worldwide, IGN.com, Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe - has arrived to lead games advertising in the UK. To celebrate this exciting advertising media, the group is throwing a one-off experiential party to showcase the best-in-class of games advertising campaigns for marketing’s glitterati.

Book below to attend the IAB Games Advertising Showcase on the 26th May to:

- Go hands on with live examples of the best advertising campaigns from leaders in the field on Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3 and online gaming sites like Playfish (recently bought by EA for a whopping $400 million).

- Be one of the first people in the world to go hands-on with Sony’s 3D and motion control technology for the Playstation 3. This is one of the first times this has been demoed anywhere in the world, and we’ll explore how your brand can be part of the experience.

- Short welcome presentations from experts in the gaming sector talking about advertising’s role in games media

- Drink, eat, play and be merry!

Video games are huge. In 2009 Nielsen reported that video game console usage was up 21% over the previous year with gamers spending an average of 12.8 hours playing games a month. Screen Digest estimates that in-game advertising alone will grow to $1 billion by 2014.

Games like Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty have overtaken cinema releases like Titanic and Harry Potter to become the biggest entertainment properties in the world. While casual gaming like karaoke, Wii fit and brain training has opened audiences up to older and female demographics. At the same time online gaming has taken social networks by storm, such as Farmville on Facebook with over 82 million active users in April 2010.

If you aren’t already advertising on games media, you need to be. With drinks, nibbles, games advertising examples and a massive splash of party - this is one event in the marketing calendar you simply cannot afford to miss.
