This day

inspiration and information they need to collaborate with universities
and to find the funding to support them to do this.

Interest' information requested in the panel to the right. Registering
your interest automatically books you a place. If you are not a member

The
purpose of the event is two-fold:
. to promote the funding available
to creative industry companies, including digital content businesses
and arts organisations, wishing to work with universities on innovative
projects and business partnerships
. to facilitate the development of
these partnerships through presenting university expertise in the
sector, running a related partner 'match-making' session and discussing
the issues precluding partnership development and how to overcome them.
The
event will feature:
. an overview of access to funding to support
engagement with universities focusing primarily on public funding
. a
presentation of the government's Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP)
scheme which offers match funding to businesses to engage with
universities and higher education institutes in order to innovate and
improve their competitive position
. an introduction to the new
innovation voucher scheme which offers funding for short-term engagement
with universities and higher education institutes
. short
presentation from each of four universities - Portsmouth, Southampton,
Southampton Solent and Winchester - presenting their expertise in the
sector and what they can offer a business partnership + one-to-one
informal sessions
. a discussion on the opportunities and challenges
of partnership engagement followed by a case study of successful
collaboration.
