Description

Own-it, the Association of Illustrators and the Association of Photographers have invited a panel of practitioners and industry experts to share their experiences of self-promotion on the internet and how you can stand out from the crowd. They will give practical tips on selecting websites that work for you, what to consider when creating your own website and how to keep control of your copyright in a digital environment. And last but not least, we would like to discuss with you ways of working which sets professionals apart from the crowd.
There will also be a legal expert on hand for all questions legal that may arise during our discussion.

Stuart Briers, Illustrator and AOI Web Manager

Stuart Briers has worked as a freelance illustrator for over 20 years. He has created imagery for a diverse range of editorial, publishing and advertising clients across the UK and USA.
In the late 90s, the advent of new technology led him to explore the best ways of promoting his work online. The creation of his own website led to web development work for others including the Association of Illustrators with whom he has had a long involvement. Nick Dunmur
is a commercial and advertising photographer based in Nottingham for the twenty years he has been in business since attending Trent Polytechnic and completing the degree course there. Nick works for a number of national and international agency and direct clients and has been fully involved with digital since 2000.

Nick is the Pro-Imaging representative on the newly-formed British Photographic Council (a coalition of all the major photographic trade bodies in the UK). In addition, Nick is a director of the Association of Photographers. http://www.nickdunmur.com

Rod Hunt, Illustrator
Rod Hunt is a London based illustrator who has built a reputation for retro tinged illustrations & detailed character filled landscapes with UK & international clients in publishing, design, advertising & new media, for everything from book covers to advertising campaigns and even the odd large scale installation, too! Notably, Rod illustrated the cover of Change The World 9 To 5, the best selling environmental book by We Are What We Do.
