The issue with the New York Times was that it tried to charge for

content if you were from outside the US.  The way round this was to

enter a US zip code and it would register you for free. 


A very daft way to do things as anyone from any country could register,

give a false address and real zip code and get access.


I wonder how many subs they sold at $35 or whatever it was outside the

US.
