So does having a banner which looks like a dialog box/scroll bar/other piece
of Windows functionality, or makes the user believe that they'll get cash/a
prize just for clicking on the banner.
But I bet that the Back button gets hit pretty quickly once the user feels
they've been tricked.
(Not to mention all the potential visitors you've just lost because their
browser crashed when the Java VM started up.)
What happens to the rates of people performing a transaction on the
advertiser's site?
