We have in development some software that can establish how well represented
a site is on the internet. It measures things like how many sites link to
your site, how high up in the search engines you rank for your keyword, but
more interestingly tries to predict how popular a site is relative to its
competitors - from an online perspective (i.e. it cannot measure traffic,
but it can for instance measure how high up the site is listed in other
sites that have links pages on the subject eg how well represented it is in
say yahoo).
It is difficult to reverse track how much banner advertising a site is
buying but there are some indications we can use given certain criteria. We
would welcome some real-life objectives to work on. Please email me on
