You can manually adjust all fades. Go to the Sound tab in Properties. Where the .wav is displayed, there are little squares attached to lines. For instance, drag the squares (both of them, on top and bottom) down to the bottom of the line. Now mouse click on the line further along the wav. You can drag that square up to the top. You've created a fade in. You can now drag the second square along the .wav to create a longer or shorter fade in.
I've used this when I had a music loop that I wanted to end after 3 loops. I made it quickly fade to nothing just before the end of the third loop when the drum intro to the next loop began. This gave it a "finished" quality.
Since learning how to adjust my own sound, I hardly ever use the preset adjustments anymore
