I tried one of the systems that had been problematic (http://joker.com)
during the weekend, and it worked fine this time.

I agree with your comments about the potential for human error. However,
this occurs with 'traditional' credit card ordering systems too. I've
heard stories about piles of order forms containing peoples cc numbers
lying around for all to see in mail order / telephone order
operations. Not good.
