You could try fourleaf  http://www.fourleaf.com/  I personally found the

BVCA useless when I utlised it a couple of years ago.  Most of the players

then, probably roughly the same now, are not VC's in the dictionary meaning

of venture or the American view of the word.  They tend to do things such as

MBO's and LBO's (mgmt buy outs and leveraged buy outs).  Nothing wrong with

that but not quite what what we Internet folks would call venture.

Any suggestions on locating a list of Venture Capitalists specialising in

Internet startups? The BVCA Directory lists 112 members and breaks down

their preferred spheres of activity into such categories as Biotechnology,

Consumer related, Media and so on; Internet and e-commerce don't get

mentioned at all.


My own pet project involves converting a traditional export oriented art

dealer business into a completely e-commerce Internet business. Although it

is likely I will end up getting my funding from the States, I'd like to give

UK based VCs first refusal.


Any thoughts?
