The next stage would appear to be free local/modem calls.  This will be 

presented in the usual minimal monthly subscription format, in order for the 

telcos to reduce their cost exposure.  The smaller companies that wish to 

differentiate themselves will probably offer more risky propositions.


The offers themselves will always be restricted by the capabilities of the 

'minute' providers billing systems.


Any ideas as to the way forward?  What does the user want?
