Freeserve.co.uk is the new aol.com.
But then it's also techies who (a) haven't wanted to give up tried and
tested accounts for something that was new and uncertain (b) are too
apathetic to bother closing one account and opening a new one (this is me)
and/or (c) don't want the hassle of changing the email/web addresses
they've had for years. The latter's a big factor in persuading people to
give up one service for another, although our 'techies' are probably more
likely to have email etc elsewhere than with their ISP so I expect it's
less of a factor in this case.
