More hits than misses in my experience - plus more *current* results. I use
Google when I'm looking for something specific. When I'm looking for a
number of sites on the same theme, then it's off to OPD.
BTW, I found the OPD *through* Google. The number of times its category
pages turns up in results is kind of scary. Much more descriptive than Yahoo
(as a search result) too.
