Subject: | FLASH: IE Mac Levels prob Redux |

I wanted to address again the problems posed by Internet Explorer 4.x [
is this a Mac only issue? I forget.]
IE, as I recall, does not properly recognize levels in Flash movies, so
if you load a movie into level 5, to give you the flexibility of
maintaining a constant background {?}, it won't work correctly. It only
recognizes when you load a movie into level 0, replacing everything,
correct?
So I have some questions:
1] I wanted to be able to have either continuous sound play while
different movies load from a common menu, and/or be able to toggle sound
off.
Marc suggested loading music into a different level. However, this will
not work for IE, right? Nor will the menu option?
2] As the stats are showing IE gaining up to 60% market share, does this
problem constitute a major hurdle for Flash developers?
3] Is this problem fixed in IE 5?
Thanks,
Jeff
