FLASH: word distortions

Hi all,   

    I wonder if someone could explain what I am doing wrong I have a word that starts of small and grows big towards the centre of the screen fading from transparent to white 100% this was fine until I added another word scrolling in from the left and increasing in size fading also on a different layer however the letters distort(morph horribly) so I naturally added shape hints this resolved the problem then when I added another word doing something it destroryed the previous work then before I knew it I had too many shape hints all over the place just to control the flow of the characters what should I do the stop the type distorting so easily I am using flash to generate the text and tweening to animate between keyframes........Grrrrrrrr I hate not knowing the solution I am sure it is simple?????? how do I stop un wanted morphing effects do I have to type individual characters on to separate layers??????
