FLASH: F4 - Bug or Feature?

Noticed in F4 that you can assign an Instance's properties in either the

Modify menu or the Library palette.

In fact, each place can define the same Instance as being both a button and

a movie clip at the same time. Is this correct? Is this something I should

avoid or exploit?
