Hi Steve,

Most experianced Flash 3 developers know instinctively what is new and
what is old but for you newer guys or those who haven't worked with
Flash3 much there can be a problem. This didn't occur to me how much of
a problem it is, until after I made out the following list. I think
these are all the major things, and I know there are some more smaller
details and I'll get an updated version on one of our sites soon.

Let me know if there are any major items I have left off the List.

The Flash 4 makes it much better to create Flash 3 at least for the
experianced Flash 3 developer. After looking at the list creating Flash
3 without using Flash 4 features does not appear so easy. A feature in
Flash 5 that might be useful is a lock feature command that would allow
you to set the version of Flash you are creating and lock out newer
features that don't work with that version.

You can not use any of the new Flash 4 features in your Flash 3
presentations:

1) No ActionScript
No Variables
No If
No Loop
No Call
No Expressions
No ActionScript Plug & Play
2) No Properties of Movie Clips
3) No Drag and Drop - There is a limited version that can be done in F3
but it is not easy without the Drag feature.
4) No Duplicate (Remove) Movie Clip
5) No Load into Target
6) No Load Variables
7) No Send Variables option - though you can add manually
8) No Text Field Text - Thus no Forms
9) No _sans, _serif or _typewriter text
10) No MPEG sound
11) No QuickTime 4 creation
12) No Key Press
