Subject: FLASH: convert to string and/or frame labels
From: Rachel Bachman

Hello all,

Is it possible to convert a numeric value to a string
in Flash 4? In my initial look-through of the expression
editor i didn't see anything.

What I want to be able to do is something along these lines:

set variable frameName = x (1, 5, 16, etc.)
set frameName + 1 = frameName
convert frameName to a string (ex. "6" not 6)

The reason I want to do this is that I want determine
which frame label I am on and then got to the next
frame label. In other words, I want to set up a flexible
back and next button system using frame labels instead
of scenes.

I've built a system using if/then but I am looking at working
with 30+ frame labels and would prefer a "simpler" solution.

any help is much appreciated,
rachel
