FLASH: Where do I learn about action scripts?

Hello everyone,


I'm assuming the action scripts part of flash 4 is a programming language,

am i right?  Where do I learn everything about this language so I can make

complex sites?  The xy axis, etc etc is very confusing.


I'll have to start from square one since I know nothing about programming

at all.  I'd like to learn the complete language and not just what flash

uses.  Is this visual basic or does flash have its own language?
