There's no Basie. The Kansas City groups swung hard, but they were always

loose, and had a good time. Take Jimmy Rushing's vocal style, for

instance... those little fillips at the end of his phrasings, you can't

beat those. This late-90s fad, though, it seems to try too hard.


Flash stuff looked nice, though.... ;-)
