FLASH: ADMIN: MIME messages

Hi Everyone....


Just a quick note about a couple of housekeeping issues. I've re-configured

the list server to stop any messages that contain MIME formatting i.e. bits

of HTML or Bold/Italics, etc. as these muck up the digest, waste bandwidth

and are generally annoying for users whose email programs don't support

these formats.


The messages will still get through to the list, but they have to be edited

by hand first, which may slow things down a little. The best thing to do is

to ensure that your email is sent in plain text format. Most popular email

programs have this setting by default if you don't chose formatting for the

text in the email, although you sometimes have to tweak Outlook (from the

Format menu choose Plain text).


A couple of other pleas:


- when replying to email only include the relevant sections of the text

from the email you are replying to, anything else just wastes time...
