As Mark said putting other keyframe or blank keyframes in a layer used

for Streaming sound will interrupt the sound.

But why would you even consider it?

Layers cost nothing and besides being a pain if you have too many they

cause no problems.

There are better ways to reduce layer clutter, for instance movie clips.

Reusing dead end layer latter in the the presention is also good.
