Hi Spencer,
I'm not sure what program you want to use for the rendering, but if you have
a graphic in Flash that you want to make transparent then you make that
graphic a symbol (select it and press F8), then double click the symbol on
stage, to get the properties window, and set the "Alpha" inside the "Color
Effect" menu.
