Agreed. That's why I supplied all those links in my reply to the original
question. I don't have a foundation in programming beyond a Javascript
class I took about 2 years ago, and I've been picking up Actionscript from
Web-based tutorials, a couple of workshops, and this list. And hey, I've
done some pretty nifty things already! From what I hear, Lingo bears some
similarities, and I've heard a background in Perl might be helpful. But
you could just as easily use Actionscript as your intro to other
object-oriented programming languages, should you ever have to learn one.

It is unfortunate that so far I haven't seen any class that supplies the
foundations-to-advanced overview for non-programmers, but I expect
Branden's Figleaf class will fill the void. His is the first class of its
kind that I've heard of. BTW, Branden's not just an accomplished
programmer, he's a very good instructor, and fully qualified to offer this
intro (unsolicited plug).

For now, though, Flashkit, FlashPlanet, FlashLite, Colin Moock's site,
FlashBible/members, and other sites seem to be the way to go.

Good luck!

Hal
