My guess is that your button states aren't "aligned" to center.
Open your button symbol, and in each state of the button have a look and
see where the + sign is. This sign represents the centre of your
symbol, and normally it is in the same place for all states. To align
your text to center, select it and select "Align" from the Modify menu.
Select both horizontal and vertical centering and check the box makred
"Align to Page". do this for the text in each state.

What is happening here is that the movie is streaming in and
playing what it can as it loads. It is running out of frames to play and
has to wait for more to download. The second time through it has already
been downloaded and plays at its normal rate. What I would suggest doing
is to place a "Wait for Frame" action in an early frame (which might show
some looping animation to pacify waiting visitors - the topic of late
here on thie list). Make it wait for a late frame in your animation and
then "Play". It should be less choppy now.
I hope this helps,
Jason
