FWIW, our PacBell ADSL line is minimum 384kbs and maxs at 1.5 mbit. However,
most servers are tuned to ~128 kbs _download_, and the public internet
pretty much maxes out at 300kbs. Still, I much prefer the stability of ADSL
to the cable that is available up here. FWIW, 39$/month, no set up fee, they
gave us an ADSL router, 100mbit ethernet card, and set it all up.
What does bug me about ADSL is the 128kbs max upload speed (the 'A' part),
but hopefully as this stuff catches on we'll move to 1.5 mbit (2-way) DSL
for the same price. OTOH, another provider up here is beta testing 11mbit
(both ways) wireless for 50$/mo, fast enough for streaming mpeg2 (as soon as
I come up with a few hunnert grand for the MediaBase server;-)...

Unless you meant 'KBps', I'd look into DSL;-)...
