Hi Barranger.  I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but Colin Moock has

posted a list of things that don't work with Mac IE4.5, with notes about

what's been fixed in IE5.  Javascript detection is one of those things,

so unless he's wrong (Colin Moock wrong?), it's not going to work for

4.5.  Maybe versions before that though?

     detecting the flash plugin is impossible in ie 4.5 because it

doesn't have the plugins property of the javascript navigator object.

there's no direct workaround to this problem. ie 4.5 users should be

sent to a page where they have to choose for themselves, or to the

non-flash version of the site if there are links to the flash version

from there.
