Hi,the easiest way to load in a Jpeg from a location is to create a single
SWF containing the Jpeg (as a symbol) and then load it using the Load Movie
action...this way you can have some kind of control over the image too, you
may want it to fade in or out, you can "talk" to the SWF using Tell Target,
but remember when using this you must include the level that the movie is
loaded in (i.e. _level1/movieclipname/action )

Otherwise you'll have to purchase Macromedia Generator which can load Jpegs
and some other image formats, but it is quite expensive. Or you'll have to
opt for a cheaper ($100) version from
http://www.swift-tools.com/
which is probably the best alternative.

But, there are other manufactures too:

http://www.blue-pac.com/
http://www.kessels.com/Form2Flash/

Read what some of the developers have to say:

http://www.flashgen.com/html/flashgen.html
http://www.gendev.net/

Ok hope this helps

Hello Flashers,

I am a graphic designer, new to flash, producing a web site for a Lingerie
distributer. We are using several hundred images and need to keep the .swf
file size down.

My question is (though basic):

How do I load a .jpg image from a specified url into my movie so that is
displays in a certain position within the same window ?

BTW: check how the site is looking please ;

Regards,

Steve
