Yeah, Ken, you know we care! But this issue isn't peculiar to
Flash--every time you design any kind of web page you have to balance
the added functionality you get from Javascript (eg, image mouseovers)
against the knowledge that some of your viewers will have it turned
off. I don't think there's a correlation between having javascript
turned off and having flash disabled, except for those who are
mistakenly paranoid about something taking control of their browser
(java--oooooh, activex----oooooh, javascript, sounds like java---better
turn it all off!)

Given the choice, server-side solutions like asp and cgi are almost
always a better choice than javascript (or in the case of Flash,
scriptless detection), but for straight html pages, you kinda have to go
with Javascript for any sort of interactivity. Same kind of choice you
make when choosing between bitmaps and vector graphics, IMO--reasons for
going with either, but you still have to make the choice. If you want
to be completely safe and viewable by all, never use javascript. If you
want your pictures to be perfectly viewable by all in flash, never use
bitmaps. The joys of web design. On that note, I'm off to enjoy the
rest of this beautiful Friday evening! Have a good one, all.

Regards,
Helen
