Let me summarize the issue you presented, and explain why it could be happening.


Issue: 

Adding more than one frame to a movie causes the image quality to deteriorate.


Reason: 

Bitmaps in one-frame movies are actually treated differently than when given more frames. Why? To display a bitmap at its highest quality, playback speed may be compromised if it's expected to maintain the same quality. Therefore, when the movie has more than one frame, image quality is automatically sacrificed for the sake of performance. It's a case of quality vs frame rate. 


This is how the program is built. We can't necessarily override this feature.


However, I should also add that the quality of bitmaps in movies with more than one frame shouldn't deteriorate *that* badly. 


If you find that image quality is unnacceptable, try these things:


1. Set the image quality to "Best" in the Publish Settings. This setting specifically optimizes bitmaps when played back in the browser.


2. Change the compression settings in the Library > Bitmap Properties.


3. Try resizing the image by 1%. Oddly enough, sometimes Flash can be quirky when rendering bitmaps (shifting, banding, etc) and it can be corrected by doing something minor such as adjusting size or alpha, ever so slightly.


4. Bring the image in again in a different format.
