One of the UK's top domain registrars launched a national search yesterday to find the worst company domain name.

Whilst we've been giggling at their hilarious examples below, there is a serious point behind the search - the Names.co.uk Worst Domain Name Award aims to raise awareness that your domain name is a key part of launching your own successful small business and recognise key mistakes businesses can make when registering their web address.

After a mammoth Social Media Week for 2012, it's time to reveal who you dubbed as this years best SMW Event and Speaker in London, as well as Social Media Personality and Campaign of the year!

SXSW is just a couple of days away and the whole tech world is gearing up to fill their boots with the latest and greatest from one of the biggest events of the year. Last year the event saw attendance of over 49,000 from all over the world, with ±40% of that number firmly in the Tech camp - AKA Interactive.

So with the tech world watching, and the entire event on the look out for the next big thing, its no surprise that SXSW will be awash with a flood of new product noise, as founders and start-ups jostle to promote the next big thing.

So this year to help out, Publicate and Sarah Austin from Pop17 have joined forces with a host of companies (Rackspace and StartUpBus to name a few) to host The Founder Awards 2012, a big celebration of the good, the bad and the bust of the start up world.

Thank you so much for everyone who attended the Social Media Week Closing Party last night, it was a brilliant night full of networking, connecting and celebrating.

It was also a night for exciting announcements as 3 Monkeys announced the categories for the Social Media Week Awards 2012. So just a recap for you...

The Categories Are:

• SMW London Event of the week
• SMW London Speaker of the week
• Social Media Personality of 2011 (UK)
• Social Campaign of the Year (since SMWLDN 2011)

We are very excited to announce another very awesome addition to this year's #SMWLDN, the Social Media Week London 2012 Awards, sponsored by 3 Monkeys. 

The categories for the awards will be announced at tomorrow night's Official #SMWLDN Closing Party.

In keeping with the Global Social Media Week theme; "empowering change through collaboration," the awards will be judged by you and awarded in 2 weeks time. Voting will be done via the Chinwag website. 

With so much going on, the #SMWLDN Closing Party is definitely an event not to missed - we'll be releasing another 50 tickets at 2pm today, so make sure you're quick and grab yourself one before they all go.
