Subject: UKNM: RE: UKNM: .uk domains now 5 for two ye ars!

what sites have you been looking at???

Remember it is important to compare Apples with Apples, Pears with Pears
etc...

Some of the 100 deals include things like e-mail and Web forwarding for
life, others who may charge 20 or less may charge extra for e-mail
forwarding and Web forwarding or offer it free for say just one year and
then you pay 30 a year thereafter!

It really is down to what you want with the domain name and how you plan to
use it. But it is very important to check the small print and understand
fully what you are getting. I saw one site that offered cheap domain names
but if you moved the name from them to someone else, they would charge you
29!

Key thing is to make sure you get a "good" deal, not just a "cheap" deal as
cheap in the short term can be very costly in the long!

Most people seem to be passing on the discount but it is just a question of
how much you want to pay for the added value services that are now being
offered.

After all, if a domain name provider charges just a 5 plus VAT, and nothing
on top for any value services, they are not going to be in business for
long!
