Did I read that wrong, or is Microsoft developing a set-top box for...PCs?? Maybe I am lost or something, but is this box going to sit on top of my PC so I can play PC-based games? Thats a good one. Get another piece of hardware to sit next to my PC to do what my PC does, more or less, anyway. Perhaps this box is something really...out of this world. It better be if I am going to make my work-station at home even more busy than it is now. I miss the point - how is this PC set-top console going to compete with TV set-top boxes...are they not...slightly different markets? Or can I plug my TV into it? In which case, it better come with one hell of a long connect cord. I am a bit confused...any feedback?
On a different note, at ECTS, I messed around a bit on Dreamcast. Its certainly smoother textures, with less pop up, quicker frames and more colourful than PS 1 (well...it better!). But perhaps it was the software - I wasn't awestruck. Impressed, yes. Will I get one? Being a sad soul...probably. the most impressive thing I saw was Saiteks PX3000 Tilt controller for PS and PCs and LMPs Gamester Evolution glove controller - based on hand-motion feedback. They told me it will cost 49.99 and the campaign will be close to 250,000...it looks a winner.
