Last May, at @d:tech Chicago, Proctor & Gamble vice president Denis
Beausejour announced the formation of FAST -- Future of Advertising
STakeholders -- a trade group charged with accelerating the development of
online advertising. FAST gained momentum with support from major
advertising trade associations and online publishers, such as America
Online, Wired Digital, Turner Interactive, the Association of National
Advertisers (ANA), the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA),
and the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), among others.
Rich LeFurgy, chairman of the FAST Forward Steering Committee, is holding a
series of online chats to talk about FAST's attempts at standardizing
online advertising terms and practices. LeFurgy was the architect of
Starwave's online advertising program, overseeing ad sales at ESPN.com,
ABC.com, ABCNews.com, Disney Online, NBA.com, NFL.com, NASCAR Online and
Mr. Showbiz. LeFurgy is now Chairman of the Internet Advertising Bureau
(IAB) and a member of the @d:tech Advisory Board.
The schedule for LeFurgy's chats is below. If you are unable to attend or
prefer transcripts, please send jharttenagra [dot] com (mailto:jharttenagra [dot] com) with the subject
line, "Send LeFurgy," and I'll reply with a consolidated transcript as soon
as it is available. Rich Lefurgy's chat tour is sponsored by @d:tech New
York, which will be held at the Marriott Marquis, October 26-28. @d:tech is
the leading conference and trade show dealing with online advertising and
e-commerce. For more information, please visit the @d:tech web site at:
