set the url clicked on (a href=) on the site to a page you can find in your
logs (e.g. index2.html) or if you're feeling sophisticated put a query on it
(a href="index.html?thisisfrom=site1") or if you're a dab hand and your logs
are logging http referrer (or you can make your home page script cache away
the referrer on the server somewhere) you can store clicks that way, i.e.
http referrer may be 'site1/index.html' or whatever showing where they came
from.
To measure presentations have the banner drawn from your server so that the
banner url is
<img src="http://yoursite/banners/thebanner.gif"> and it'll show up in your
server logs.
It will help to have some good logfile analysis software - start with
looking at webtrends.
