In my 5 years of web experience I have only heard of
one credit card problem.

orders were coming in from Istanbul for huge amounts.
The credit cards were checked and found to be stolen.
When called the user at the end of the line said "Is
there a problem with the credit card 'cos I have many
more here". I still picture a bloke in a small flat in
Istanbul flicking through a handful of credit card
receipts sent to him from the US like a pack of cards!

Absolutely right, BUT it was caught because the credit card was checked.
The CDNow incident was the first time I had heard of actual fraud occuring.
CC fraud attempts are made by many. I'm sure there are systems out there
that do no algorithm checks on credit card numbers and end up with orders
for D. Duck and M. Mouse.
