Best example of this: Yahoo.
Months of user-testing and research last year, and they just added a few
coloured bars to the screen and a grey box to the side. The layout hasn't
changed much since it was stored on akebono.stanford.edu.
Compare that to the hodgepodge on excite.com (where you have to wait for
tables to render before you can even see the search box).
