CallNet0800 says there is no catch and that it will be able to guarantee
service. mmm..
The model is based on switching - if you dial 145 before a non-data call you
get x amount of money off a BT/CWC/NTL call - this is where CallNet makes
its money, and apparently it's worked for the network backers, North
American Gateway in Canada or somewhere like that.
The fact that it expects 200,000 users by Xmas (two months) is completely
unrealistic, particularly given Freeserve took two months to bring 1m people
on board. My guess is it's going to be swamped, and CallNet is going to have
problems keeping up with demand.
Still, I've already signed up with it....
