Sports Internet just paid 24 mln pounds in new shares and
650,000 cash to pay off debt to buy Planetfootball.com -- I'm wondering if this
is the largest sum paid to date in the U.K. for an Internet content company?
Not quite - the chap behind the Games Domain site just sold out for 33
Million CASH
The Sunday Mirror got hold of the story a couple of weeks ago and really
laid it on thick......
e.g. 3 years ago Dave Stanworth was jobless, penniless and wondering
whether he had been condemned to be a failure all his life. After
dropping out of school, Dave worked at a factory, on a building site
labourer and as a bookie before launching a failed business that left
him at rock bottom. He said: "I ended up on the dole, living in a
council flat wondering what to do with my life. Now, after starting a
computer games business in a former barbershop, the ex-labourer has sold
up for 33 million
There's hope for us all !
