but the cost of distribution is falling through the floor.

but there is very little truly exclusive content, except that generated
by monopoly concerns.

these are also being devalued, usually by the public themselves. look at
what slashdot did to the cnets and zdnets of this world to realise that
a dedicated and clueful enthusiast can generate more
interesting/respected content than professionals. Look at all the media
owners desperately firing Cease-and-desists at people creating
interesting free content.

This trend is in its infancy, but expect to see it grow.
