I (we) have been with First Direct since about 1994 and I really can't

recommend them highly enough.  Ray says that it's a bit slow - maybe it is I

have to say that I haven't tried many others (I suppose I haven't needed

to).  Perhaps it's because FD started as a telephone bank that the switch to

I'net banking has been so easy ?  You get the best of both worlds -

HSBC/Midland branches as well as (24hr)'phone & I'net banking with FD

themselves.  On top of all that they are pleasant to deal with, you can't

ask for a lot more.


In light of recent postings re: Just35 I suppose it's worth pointing out

that I have absolutely no connection to First Direct or HSBC, and I never

have had ... except that I bank with them ;)
